THE RETURN OF THE MELLIFLUOUS

The Mellifluous sits in the living room of your mind in a comfy well worn armchair covered in peacock blue velvet. He has a nonchalant pose, a cigarette between his long relaxed fingers, heavy eyelids and endearing ways.
He smiles prettily and with a purring and bored voice distills humour and venom, compliments and jabs. The Mellifluous is the secret envoy of the Great Destroyer, a slow release bomber of the psyche. And even when you have recognized and driven him out – something that can be done without excessive difficulty, as the Mellifluous is a coward by nature – the danger is not over.
The Mellifluous will return, and without exactly knowing how you will find him at the pool table with a glass of scotch in hand, or proposing a toast at dinner, or shoveling cat litter early in the morning.
A horror story, between black magic and the psycological thriller.
