Desire is a wonderful telescope

We love books. We love the stories, the characters, the places and times, and the adventures they take us on. We love the great souls of great authors who through time, ink and cellulose send flashes of light and inspiration right into our lives. If the cover of every book is a door, we are the ones who boldly cross it with the happy expectation of new, wonderful discoveries. Books are our friends, they are allies and a source of delight.

Ours is not a platonic love. We experience physical pleasure in looking at, touching, weighing and smelling books. We willingly indulge in the perversion of buying a book just for the cover. Some books put us in a good mood just by looking at them. We use some books to show off and make ourselves interesting in the eyes of others. We are also like that.

And then, there are the books that haven’t been written. The ones that our favorite authors haven’t had the time or the way to write and that we feel sadly deprived of. The books we wish existed. Those that it is inexplicable that do not yet exist. The ones that maybe we should write.

This is why we created the International Imaginary Library, a limited edition of six titles – two in Italian, two in English and two in French – ranging from extreme science to the occult, from vague manuals to horror.

Inside, the pages are blank and ready for everything: from writing the story of the title to the travel diary, from a collection of dreams to family recipes.

They are the books we wish existed.

A project created with Chez Dédé – an independent brand with an Italian-French passport founded in 2001 by Andrea Ferolla and Daria Reina, specialized in exclusive collections and small charming editions.
